Finca Esperanza Verde

Finca Esperanza Verde is a coffee farm located in the Central Highlands of Nicaragua near the city of Matagalpa at approximately 4000 ft (1200 m) above sea level.  Their shade-grown artisanal coffee is produced in small batches. Beans are handpicked, washed in natural spring water, dried in the sun on raised tables then transported to a dry mill in Matagalpa where it is prepared for export. The farm is located in the middle of the small rural community of La Chispa. It provides locals with employment opportunities, supports an elementary school on the property with the help of volunteers and community members, and also develops social programs and initiatives through their Green Hope Foundation.
